Next Lab Generation was the event chosen by the IBERMEDIA Program to present the IBERMEDIA NEXT project's line of grants for the application of new technologies in the field of digital animation and audiovisual content with a high percentage of animation. Beatriz Navas, Director General of the ICAA, explained that the aid has been developed by IBERMEDIA in alliance with the Quirino Awards and La Liga de la Animación Iberoamericana, and that among its objectives are also the support of companies and professionals through training services, and the creation of networks between agents of the Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Latin American sector, in order to promote greater protection and defense of cultural and linguistic diversity as hallmarks of the Program.
Legal entities from Spain, Italy or Portugal with projects developed in collaboration with individuals or legal entities from Spain, Italy or Portugal with projects developed in collaboration with Latin American individuals or legal entities from member states of the IBERMEDIA Program are eligible for the new IBERMEDIA NEXT grant line.
The aid will consist of a financial contribution of up to €150,000, and a training, mentoring, promotion and dissemination program for these audiovisual projects and the companies and professionals that lead them, valued at up to €95,000. The opening date of the call will be May 12, 2023, coinciding with the Quirino Ibero-American Animation Awards, and applications may be submitted until August 20, 2023.
